The responsibility of the Family Life Committee is to support resources, programs and structures responsive to the needs of parish families and to advocate for the family among existing organizations and committees.

St. Henry Youth Group welcomes teenagers grades 7 & 8 (Jr. CYO) and grades  9 - 12
(Sr. CYO) to join us in our many activities. Please feel free to attend our events that are listed below or call the Youth Office for more information, 353-0203.

2010 DIOCESE OF NASHVILLE CATHOLIC YOUTH RALLY

 

Saturday, Sept. 18, 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at St. Henry Church.  Cost $35 prior to Sept. 9.  $45 the day of, includes 2 meals and a t-shirt.  Open to all high school age students; adults may attend for sessions geared to youth ministers and DRS’s.

The Young Adult Group is for all those who are in their 20’s and 30’s both married and single in our parish. The group values socializing, volunteering and exploring questions of the Catholic Faith.

The Elizabeth Ministry supports, encourages and assists mothers in special times of need with regard to pregnancy, childbirth, adoption, fertility, miscarriage, infant loss and hospitalization.

Holy Family Circle promotes Christian family life among mothers and plans programs of interest to young, growing families. This group meets on the third Tuesday of the month at 9:30 a.m.

Respect Life Committee works in conjunction with our pastor and the Diocese to promote the sanctity of all human life. It works to raise awareness about the tragedy of abortion, to keep abreast of changes within federal, state, and local laws, to influence laws that protect life, to support pro-life agencies and to pray for the end of abortion and increased respect for life.

The Boy Scout Program
consists of four patrols, with boys ranging in age from 11 to 18 years, and meets every Monday from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., in the School Dining Hall. Adult leaders assist in many service projects, go on monthly outings, host two fund raising events per year (for two major trips), and participate in the Scoutorama.

The Girl Scout Program
consists of fifteen St. Henry Troops from the first through the twelfth grade. The troops meet at various times, usually after school. Girl Scouts participate in several areas of community service. Cadette Scouts work on their Silver Award and Senior Scouts work toward their Gold Award, the highest honor given to a Girl Scout. Adult volunteers help and assist in these activities.

The Cub Scout Program
of Pack 80 is open to all boys of the parish who have started the first grade through the fifth grade. With adult leaders, they meet as individual “dens” on a weekly basis, and a full meeting of the pack meets the third Wednesday of each month. Activities include field trips, crafts, rank advancement, pinewood derby, and religious award opportunities.
