Eucharistic
Ministers
Ministers of the
Eucharist assist with the distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ
under the forms of bread and wine during the Mass. Norms
for the Distribution and Reception of Holy Communion indicate that it
is necessary for Eucharistic Ministers to receive spiritual, theological,
and practical preparation and that they are to fulfill their role with
knowledge and reverence.
Some
Eucharistic Ministers take communion to the sick who are in hospitals, in
nursing homes, in assisted-living facilities, and at home.
