Building Faith through Sunday Religious Education
Classes start September 10, 2023
We seek to nourish the faith of children and youth of the parish age 4 years old through grade 12. This faith was first celebrated at Baptism and parents continue to be the primary educators of religion.
Our Sunday School Classes will begin September 10. Registration is online; see below link. Classes are held on campus in the St Henry School classrooms. Parents will receive a confirmation email once the registration form is submitted. The fee for class is $50 per student. Payments are made on our secure website, Breeze or by mailing a check to the church office. We welcome donations to sponsor families in need. If you need help with the fee, please contact us to register.
As stewards of faith, our volunteer catechists help guide the children and youth of our parish through a variety of engaging and meaningful activities to help them in their faith formation journey. Our curriculum is designed to help our children know, proclaim, witness, and share the Catholic faith.
As stated in the Religious Education handbook, children learn to pray and to love their neighbor by the example set at home by the parents. Father Mark says, “In a very real way you catechize your child each day in each experience.” He further states, “It is a sacred responsibility and great act of love and grace from God that enables you to live out your Baptismal commitment, as well as accept being the primary religious educator and role model for your children.” As you model to your children, be especially mindful of the following expectations, which are in keeping with the basic tenets of the Catholic Christian tradition: attending Mass weekly and on Holy Days of Obligation, sharing your time talent, and treasure, being connected in our St Henry community, and making prayer an important part of daily life. This sets the best example for your children.
