Holy Week and Easter at St. Henry

Our parish journeyed together through the sacred days of Holy Week with reverence, beauty, and joy.

On Holy Thursday, Father Eric Fowlkes washed the feet of twelve parishioners in a moving reminder of Christ’s call to serve. The Holy Oils were presented to the parish, and the congregation prayerfully walked through the Passion of the Lord. The evening concluded with a solemn procession of the Blessed Sacrament to the fellowship hall, where it remained for adoration until night prayer.

Good Friday brought a powerful and humbling liturgy, as the priests lay prostrate before the cross. Parishioners were invited to venerate the cross, which held a small relic of the True Cross, creating a profound moment of reflection on Christ’s sacrifice.

On Holy Saturday, our community rejoiced as 43 candidates and catechumens received the Sacraments of Initiation after months of preparation through the O.C.I.A. program. Among them, 12 individuals were baptized. This beautiful Vigil Mass, filled with light and hope, lasted well into the night and concluded with a joyful reception in the fellowship hall to celebrate our newly received brothers and sisters in Christ.
